CULTURAL REPORT – UNITED KINGDOM 
      
   * The United Kingdom (UK) is comprised of four countries: England, Northern Ireland, Scotland,
   and Wales. Each country has a distinct sense of identity and unique cultural characteristics.

   * Great Britain is the official name given to the kingdoms of England and Scotland,
   and the principality of Wales.

   * England is the largest country in both entities with ~ 50 million people.

   * Accents convey both regional and social class differences.

   * Cultural diversity is prominent in many of the large cities, particularly London, where 30% 
   of the population comes from ethnic minority groups.

   * In business, you want to place emphasis on building strong relationships with the British.

   * Also allow time for consensus-building when making decisions with your British counterparts.

   * Use of humor is often appreciated by the British in business situations.

   * Don't be afraid to ask if you are unsure which country your British colleague hails from!
